Day, there was a formal ceremonial blessing of the Kitselas
Canyon Historical Park and the blessing was witnessed by the
Kitselas Elders and community members. The Ceremonial blessing
of the Longhouses, other facilities, the viewing platform, and
those who will work or visit the site, was conducted by local
ministers Rev. Doug Campbell of the Terrace St. Matthews Anglican
Church and Captain David Moulton of the Terrace Salvation Army.
The welcome and opening comments were given by Wilfred Bennett
jr. (Web) and the opening prayer was by Isobelle McKee. Hereditary
Chiefs Mel Bevan and Ralph Wright
shared their memories on the evolution of the Kitselas Park.
Special guests included Wilfred McKenzie - General Manager of
the Project; Roger Leclerc of the 16/37 Community Development;
